Lies Bloggers Believe: Why YOU Need a Blog

Hey y’all!

Have you ever wanted to start your own blog, but you’ve thought:

~ I’m not a good writer.
~ I have nothing that is worthy of being shared because I have no topics that I know enough about.
~ I can’t post weekly.
~ I’m not going to network because I don’t think my blog is good enough/pretty enough.
(For those bloggers who, like me, took a while to get out there because of personal fears).

Or anything else along those lines?

Doubts

Well, my dear reader, I am here to tell you that…

YOU ARE SO WRONG and YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

I have had so many of my friends and family say these things when I suggested that they start a blog, and if you fall into any of these categories, this post is for YOU, my friend!

So, to start, let’s cover the basics of why YOU CAN be a blogger. Let’s address each of the above doubts.

I’m not a good writer.
Okay, I have honestly fallen into this category, so I can actually give some personal advice: JUST DO IT. I’m serious. It took me awhile to get out there with my writing. But the thing is, once you start, you can only get better. SO GO BLOG BLOGGER!

JustDoIt

I have nothing that is worthy of being shared because I have no topics that I know enough about.
What’s your favorite sport? Hobby? Book? Animal? Color? Food? Piece of Furniture? Style of Clothing? Brand of Makeup? Makeup Tricks/Tips? Crafts? DIY Ideas? Decorating Tips/Tricks? Life Hacks? If you could answer any one of these questions, then you have something to write about that is worth sharing. There is someone out there that either needs or wants to know what you do. Find that thing that you get up for in the morning and write about it. Or photograph it. Whatever you would die for, live for.

Dreams

I can’t post weekly.
And no one said you had to. Post daily, weekly, monthly, or even yearly if you like. Post sporadically and haphazardly if that works for you. You post when it works for you. Now, I wouldn’t suggest you post less often than monthly if you are looking to expand you blog because many readers like to follow active bloggers, but if you are not worried about expanding your blog, then post whenever you would like!

Whenever

I’m not going to network because I don’t think my blog is good enough/pretty enough.
Please just stop right there. I thought this once, too. I can’t write, and I’m just now learning how to do graphic design. But, I’m not scared to try. Why? Because it’s all part of the learning process and experience of blogging. It’s a package deal. No, I can’t promise that you will always succeed. But I can promise you that if you try your best, others will see it and they will love it and your effort.

Now, go blog! I can’t wait to see what you create!
