I had decided earlier that I was going to be an awesome blogger. I was going to sit down and be responsible and write down all of my new year’s resolutions as a good example/read for you guys.
I mean, let’s face it. How many of us actually keep any of our resolutions more than a week (or two if we’re really dedicated) into the new year? I mean, let’s not be delusional. I know I don’t. So, why am I going to to make a new year’s resolution list of things in which I know I will fail? I’m just starting off the year planning to fail…
And that’s depressing…
So, I’m not going to be a good blogger. I’m not going to tell you guys all my awesome plans for next year.
I’m just going to live my life, and you will see my awesome plans as I write about them!
So, singing a slightly different tune now…
What is your take on 2017? Was it a wonderful year that you will want to replay in your head for the rest of your life? Did you feel like you accomplished a ton? Or was it was one of those years? Was it a year you felt was wasted? Was it a year that seemed to slip through your fingers? Was it a year on which you will reflect one day and say, “Well…I survived.”
Sad to say, I fall into the the latter category – 2017 slipped right through my fingers and I can only say that I am truly grateful I survived. I woke up the last days before 2017 and I felt accomplished in my goals of 2016. This year? Not so much.
Everything seemed to fly – right past me.
It was as though I was on one of those Disney rides, but instead of me flying past everything, I was the one standing still while everything flew past me at a rather sickening rate.
There were some wonderful things about this year, though, and I would like to point out five of the most important ones:
5.) I got my driver’s permit, and I am working on my license.
4.) I got my first job, and I am slowly learning my way around a doctor’s office (which is really awesome experience for my major in nursing).
3.) I completed my reading goal 150% (read 75 books instead of the intended 50).
2.) I started dual enrolling.
1.) Perhaps the most important highlight of this year has been that I have started this blog and joined the awesome world of bloggers and blogging and all things…blogs.
You know, if you say “blog” over and over again really fast, you will (sooner or later) end up saying blob…
And the wonderful thing?
I know you’re actually trying it in your head right now…
So, now that I’ve covered the good and the bad, I would like to end 2017 on a humorous and enjoyable note – nothing too deep. This last post of 2017 will be comic relief – as a lighthearted way to say farewell to 2017 and usher in 2018.
I know it’s kind of out of the blue, but hey! That’s the best comedy and I have yet to do a post like this before.
So, instead of a list of to-do’s and not-to-do’s, here’s a whole bunch of memes for you to laugh at. Since we’re talking about new year’s resolutions and goals, some of these are life-goal related, some are life-style related, some are just…well…funny.
And hopefully all are relatively relatable…..
I apologize in advance for that fact that 90% of these memes are of minions. I am a proud minion myself…comment below if you are, too!
With that, I want to welcome you guys into 2018!
2018, here we come!
May this year be even more fruitful and wonderful for you than last year and all the previous years combined! May the Lord bless you and guide you in all your undertakings.
